Chapter 5 - THE TERMINAL AMBUSHThe clock on the wall read 4:45 AM.

The trap had closed, but the main target was still on the move. Lewis Dudley believed he had secured the ultimate victory with the fake trust documents and his sister flying decoy.
"Where is Lewis right now?" Robert demanded, his voice devoid of any remaining mercy.
"Fort Lauderdale Executive Terminal, Hangar 4," Detective Marcus replied, snapping his fingers. Two tactical units moved into position behind him in the hallway. "He’s meeting with Richard Dudley to finalize the transfer of the condo title using the forged power of attorney."
Robert looked at Chloe. She slowly stood up from the couch, brushing the dried blood from her knees. The fear in her eyes had hardened into something cold and sharp.
"I'm going," she said.
"Chloe, no," I protested, grabbing her arm. "You've been through hell tonight. Let the police handle them."
"They tried to kill me, Mom," she said, her voice entirely steady. "They took my wedding, my home, my dignity, and my trust. If I don't watch them put the cuffs on Lewis myself, this night will never end."

Robert looked at our daughter, a quiet, fierce pride flickering in his eyes for the first time in ten years. He reached out and handed her a heavy titanium-cased key.
"Take my car," Robert said softly. "We're going to finish this."
