🔥 CHAPTER 4 — The Sister Who Didn't Know She Was Missing

The photograph changed everything.

For six months, Eleanor and Emily searched across Europe.

Every lead ended the same way.

Too late.

Too cold.

Too many lies.

Then one rainy afternoon, a retired immigration officer in Belgium recognized the young woman from the photograph.

"I've seen her."

He pointed toward an old passport application.

"She goes by another name now."

Not Sophia.

Not Whitmore.

Her name was...

Anna Laurent.

She lived quietly in a small coastal town in southern France, working as an elementary school teacher.

Emily couldn't stop shaking.

"My sister has been alive all this time..."

Forty-eight hours later, Eleanor and Emily stood outside a little school overlooking the sea.

Children laughed in the playground.

A young woman walked out carrying a stack of books.

She had chestnut hair.

Hazel eyes.

The exact same smile Emily saw every morning in the mirror.

Emily whispered,

"That's her..."

Anna looked up.

For a brief second...

Their eyes met.

Both women froze.

Neither had ever seen the other before.

Yet it felt like staring into a reflection.

Anna slowly smiled.

"I'm sorry..."

"Have we met?"

Emily couldn't speak.

Instead...

She simply held out the faded photograph of the two newborn babies.

Anna's smile disappeared.

That night, DNA results confirmed the impossible.

They were identical twins.

Separated before either could remember.

The reunion was emotional beyond words.

But as everyone celebrated...

Anna quietly admitted something terrifying.

"Someone has been watching me."

The room fell silent.

"For years."

"I receive anonymous letters."

"They always say the same thing."

She opened a drawer and removed dozens of envelopes.

May you like

Each contained only six typed words.

"Never ask who you really are."
