CHAPTER 4 — THE WOMAN EVERYONE THOUGHT WAS THE VICTIM... WAS ACTUALLY THE MASTER OF THE GAME

The flashing police lights painted the walls of the Sinclair Estate in red and blue.

Reporters gathered outside the gates.

Helicopters circled overhead.

Within hours, every major news network carried the same headline:

"The Sinclair Wedding Exposes a 25-Year Family Conspiracy."

But inside the mansion...

Eleanor Sinclair wasn't watching the news.

She was staring at Victoria.

"You took the folder."

Victoria nodded slowly.

"I didn't know what Adrian was hiding..."

"...until I opened his office."

The old lawyer carefully examined the documents.

Each page revealed another crime.

Forged property deeds.

Shell companies.

Bribed judges.

Witnesses who had disappeared.

Millions of dollars transferred into secret offshore accounts.

Then...

He stopped at the final document.

His face lost all color.

"This isn't possible."

The maid stepped closer.

"What is it?"

The lawyer swallowed hard.

"These transactions continued..."

"...while Eleanor was supposedly imprisoned."

The room fell silent.

Everyone slowly turned toward Eleanor.

Lily looked confused.

"Great-Grandma?"

Eleanor gently stroked the little girl's hair.

Then...

She smiled.

Not with relief.

Not with sadness.

But with complete confidence.

"I wondered how long it would take someone to notice."

The lawyer's eyes widened.

"You knew?"

Eleanor stood up without anyone helping her.

Her back was suddenly straight.

Her voice was calm.

Strong.

Nothing like the weak old prisoner everyone believed she was.

"I wasn't trapped."

Every person in the room froze.

"What?" Victoria whispered.

Eleanor slowly walked toward the fireplace.

"For twenty-five years..."

"...I stayed exactly where they thought I was."

The maid shook her head in disbelief.

"But why?"

Eleanor looked directly at Adrian, who had just been brought back inside in handcuffs.

"Because a hunter never scares the wolves away..."

"...until every wolf enters the trap."

Adrian's confident expression disappeared.

"No..."

"You couldn't have known."

Eleanor laughed softly.

"I knew everything."

She pointed toward the ceiling.

"The hidden cameras."

"The fake financial accounts."

"The forged signatures."

"The murders disguised as accidents."

"I watched every move."

The police officers exchanged shocked glances.

Victoria took a step backward.

"You mean..."

"...you let this happen?"

Eleanor's face filled with pain.

"I let them believe they had won."

She turned toward Lily.

"Because I was waiting..."

"...for the last rightful Sinclair to be old enough to survive what was coming."

The room became deathly quiet.

Then one detective rushed inside carrying a laptop.

"Ma'am..."

"We found a secure server beneath the estate."

He plugged it into the television.

Hundreds of video files appeared.

Each file was dated.

Each one secretly recorded inside the Sinclair empire over twenty-five years.

Executives accepting bribes.

Politicians taking cash.

Judges changing verdicts.

Even Adrian's father ordering someone's disappearance.

Victoria covered her mouth.

"My God..."

The detective looked at Eleanor with disbelief.

"You recorded all of this?"

She nodded once.

"I recorded everything."

The lawyer whispered,

"This evidence could destroy half the country's most powerful families."

Before anyone could speak again...

The mansion suddenly went dark.

Every light went out.

The television shut off.

The security system began screaming.

WARNING... SERVER BREACH DETECTED.

Outside...

An explosion rocked the front gate.

Everyone ducked.

The windows shattered.

Black SUVs surrounded the estate.

Dozens of armed men in tactical gear stepped out.

Their leader removed his sunglasses.

He smiled directly at Eleanor.

"You've kept us waiting for twenty-five years."

Eleanor didn't look afraid.

Instead...

She smiled back.

"I was wondering when you'd finally show yourselves."

The armed leader slowly applauded.

"Congratulations."

"You just exposed the Sinclair family."

He raised a pistol.

"But now..."

May you like

"...you're about to learn they were never the people truly in charge."

To be continued...
