CHAPTER 6 — The Trial That Destroyed the Whitmore Name
The courtroom was packed.
Reporters filled every bench.
The Whitmore scandal had become the story everyone wanted to read.
Millionaire son.
Secret mistress.

And a wife who had once saved his life.
Daniel entered in a dark suit, clean-shaven and calm.
He looked like a man who still believed the world belonged to him.

Sophia looked at Daniel.
“Because I still believed there was a good man somewhere inside him.”
The courtroom went silent.
“And when did you stop believing that?”
Sophia’s voice trembled.
“When I realized he didn’t just betray me.”
“He used my kindness as a weapon against everyone.”
Daniel finally snapped.
“You think they love you now?” he shouted.
“They only pity you!”
The judge ordered him to sit down.
But Sophia didn’t flinch.
She looked at him one last time.
“No, Daniel.”
“They finally see me.”
By the end of the trial, Daniel was convicted of fraud, forgery, and conspiracy.
But just when everyone thought the story was over…
The judge revealed one final document.
Daniel had changed his will six months earlier.
If anything happened to him before the money transfers were complete…
Everything would go to Vanessa.
But Vanessa stood up and said clearly:
“I don’t want a dollar from him.”
Then she turned toward Sophia.
“I want it donated.”
