Chapter 6 - The Final Twist

Six months later.
The Manhattan skyline was as beautiful as ever. Richard stood on the balcony of his new penthouse. He was no longer the man who lived for the next big deal. He had stepped back, leaving the company in the hands of a board that prioritized ethics over margins.
A knock on the door. It was Maya, dressed in a sharp, professional suit, carrying a tablet.
"The last of the offshore accounts have been closed, Richard," she said. "Vanessa’s trial starts tomorrow. She’s pleading insanity, but the recordings..."

"Let him release it," Richard replied. "Because I didn't just record her. I recorded him. And the media isn't going to care about a fake video when they see the live stream of him being arrested in front of his board of directors."
He handed the tablet to Maya. "The lesson, Maya? In this city, you can build the tallest towers, but if you don't keep an eye on the foundation, the whole thing will crumble. We didn't just survive. We cleaned house."
As the sun set, the city lights flickered on, one by one. Richard wasn't just a survivor; he was the one who had finally realized that the most powerful thing you can possess isn't money—it's the truth. And in a city of liars, the truth is the most dangerous weapon of all.
