CHAPTER 7 — “THEY OPENED THE SECRET VAULT... AND FOUND A CHILD WHO HAD BEEN MISSING FOR FIFTEEN YEARS”

Three days later...

Michael's funeral was over.

No reporters.

No cameras.

Only silence.

Daniel stood beside Emily, holding Noah in his arms.

In his pocket...

The electronic key Michael had died protecting felt heavier than ever.

One word.

FOUNDATION.

The FBI had spent seventy-two straight hours trying to identify it.

Nothing.

No company.

No charity.

No government agency.

It was as if the organization had never existed.

Then Emily quietly spoke.

"I've seen that symbol before."

Everyone turned.

She pointed to the strange emblem engraved on the key.

"My mommy had the same picture... hidden inside an old storybook."

The room froze.

Detective Harris immediately searched Sarah's belongings.

Hours later...

Inside a worn children's book called The Little Sparrow...

They found a folded map.

At the bottom, Sarah had written:

"If you're reading this... don't trust anyone wearing the Foundation ring."

The map led to an abandoned orphanage nearly two hundred miles outside the city.

It had been closed for over twenty years.

Or so everyone believed.

That night...

A convoy of FBI vehicles surrounded the crumbling building.

The windows were boarded shut.

The front gate was covered in rust.

It looked completely abandoned.

But Daniel noticed something strange.

Fresh tire tracks.

Someone had been there recently.

The tactical team forced open the front doors.

Dust filled the air.

Broken toys lay scattered across the floor.

Old wheelchairs.

Empty classrooms.

Everything looked frozen in time.

Then...

Emily stopped walking.

She pointed toward the basement.

"I hear someone crying."

The agents listened.

Nothing.

But Emily didn't move.

"It's a little girl..."

"...she's calling for her mommy."

The team rushed downstairs.

Behind an old bookshelf...

They discovered a hidden steel door.

The electronic key fit perfectly.

Click.

The vault slowly opened.

What they found inside left every agent speechless.

Rows of hospital beds.

Medical equipment.

Boxes of fake passports.

Thousands of confidential files.

And in the far corner...

A frightened teenage girl curled beneath a blanket.

She shielded her eyes from the light.

Detective Harris carefully approached.

"It's okay."

"You're safe now."

The girl whispered with a trembling voice,

"What year... is it?"

Everyone looked at each other in disbelief.

She hadn't seen daylight in years.

When agents searched the files...

One document made Daniel's blood run cold.

MISSING CHILD CASE #001

Status: Never Found.

Year: Fifteen years ago.

The girl's DNA was tested immediately.

Hours later...

The results arrived.

Detective Harris stared at the report, unable to speak.

Daniel grabbed it from his hands.

His knees nearly gave out.

The teenage girl wasn't just another victim.

She was the biological daughter of a United States Supreme Court Justice.

A child the entire country had believed was murdered fifteen years earlier.

Before anyone could process the discovery...

Every computer screen inside the underground vault suddenly turned on by themselves.

A distorted voice echoed through hidden speakers.

"Congratulations."

"You've opened the first vault."

"There are eleven more."

The lights instantly went out.

Then, glowing on every monitor, appeared a countdown.

23:59:59

Twenty-four hours.

And beneath the timer...

May you like

One chilling sentence.

"Choose the next child wisely... because only one can be saved."
