Chapter 5 - THE EMBERS OF VENGEANCE

Viral Hook: Bleeding out and locked in a tomb, the billionaire hears a voice from the shadows that changes everything! The silence of the bunker was deafening. Daniel lay on the cold floor, his shoulder burning, blood pooling beneath him. He could hear Lydia groaning nearby, stirring back to consciousness.
"Daniel..." she whispered, dragging herself toward him. "Where is Annie? Where is my baby?"
"Harold... he took her," Daniel choked out, fighting the dizziness. "He's taking her to Arthur at the factory. I... I failed them, Lydia. I failed Julian again."
"No!" Lydia cried, grabbing his collar, her eyes blazing with sudden, fierce determination. "You haven't failed yet. Look at me, Daniel! Julian always said you were the strongest one. You can't let that monster have our daughter!"
Her words acted like a jolt of electricity to his heart. Our daughter. His niece. The last living piece of his brother.
With a guttural scream of agony, Daniel forced himself up. He ripped a strip of cloth from his shirt and tied it tightly around his shoulder wound to stem the bleeding. He didn't have time for pain.
He walked over to the heavy steel door. It was locked from the outside with a digital keypad, but Harold had forgotten one crucial detail. Daniel’s father hadn't just built a bunker; he had built a fortress with manual overrides known only to the bloodline. Daniel walked to the ventilation grate, pulled off the cover, and reached deep inside until his fingers wrapped around a cold, iron lever.
He pulled it down with all his remaining strength.
The heavy steel door hissed and swung open.

"We have to go," Daniel said, offering his good hand to Lydia. "We're taking my private helicopter. The factory is only ten minutes away by air."
As they ran through the storm toward the estate's hidden hangar, the blizzard howled around them, but Daniel no longer felt the cold. The fire of vengeance and the desperate need to protect his family burned so hot within him that it melted the ice in his veins. He fired up the helicopter’s engines, the blades cutting through the snowstorm as they lifted off into the treacherous, pitch-black sky.
