Chapter 5 - UNMASKING THE MONSTERSThe room fell into a deathly silence. The syndicate members slowly stood up, realizing that the room was flooded with federal authorities.

"Agent Vance," I said, pointing to the documents on the table. "Exhibit A: The offshore accounts of Holloway Logistics. For twelve years, Richard and Victoria Holloway have been using fake shipping manifests to launder proceeds from human trafficking rings operating through Port Harbor."

Richard’s face turned gray. "That’s a lie! You have no proof!"

"I don't just have proof, Richard. I have your chief accountant’s private ledger," I smiled thinly. "You see, when I was an auditor, I learned that corrupt men always keep a second set of books to make sure they aren't robbing each other. I found yours buried inside an encrypted cloud server registered under your mistress's name in Zurich."

Victoria whipped her head toward her husband, her eyes wide with shock. "What?! A mistress?!"

"Shut up, Victoria!" Richard screamed, his composure completely shattering.

"And then we have Exhibit B," I continued, turning my gaze to Brandon. "The toxicological report from my daughter’s blood sample."

Brandon began to hyperventilate. "Helen... please... let’s talk about this..."

"The blood test came back positive for high concentrations of concentrated thallium and synthetic hormones," I said, my voice shaking with righteous fury. "You weren't just causing miscarriages, Brandon. You were slowly poisoning Emily to death so you could claim her entire estate as her surviving spouse! You were going to kill my daughter!"

The syndicate leader looked at Brandon with disgust, realized the entire operation was blown, and slowly reached into his jacket.

"Don't even think about it!" Agent Vance barked, pointing his firearm at the mobster. "Hands on the table! All of you!"

Within seconds, federal agents stormed the room, shoving Richard, Victoria, and the syndicate members against the glass windows and snapping heavy steel handcuffs onto their wrists.

Brandon fell to his knees, begging on the carpet. "Helen! Please! I loved her! I was forced into this! My father made me do it!"

I walked over to the pathetic man weeping at my feet. I knelt down, grabbed him by his designer tie, and pulled his face inches from mine.

"You told my daughter that nobody would believe her," I whispered into his ear. "Look around you, Brandon. Everyone believes her now."
