Chapter 8 - THE NEW DYNASTYThree months later, the Bellhaven Grand reopened under entirely new management.

The scars of that rainy November night had been completely erased. The shattered glass was replaced, the bullet holes in the concrete service tunnels patched over, and the entire executive board restructured from the ground up.

In the penthouse suite—now completely redesigned in rich dark mahogany, brushed brass, and midnight velvet—Amelia Carter stood by the floor-to-ceiling windows, looking out over the Chicago river.

She no longer wore a gray hotel uniform, scuffed sneakers, or a scratched plastic name tag. Instead, she wore a tailored silk evening gown, her hair swept up in an elegant knot, a diamond necklace resting against her collarbone.

Behind her, the private elevator chimed softly.

Dominic stepped out, walking across the plush rug to wrap his arms around her waist, resting his chin gently on her shoulder.

"The Italian syndicate in Palermo sent a formal delegation," Dominic murmured into her ear. "They want to renegotiate the shipping routes. They want to know who is advising me on security now."

Amelia turned slightly in his embrace, a cool, confident smile playing on her lips—the exact same expression Dominic wore when facing his most dangerous enemies.

"Tell them," Amelia whispered, her eyes flashing with quiet power, "that the new director of operations prefers to watch the mirrors."

Dominic smiled, pulling her closer as the sun began to set over Lake Michigan, casting a brilliant golden glow across a new dynasty that no one would ever dare to betray again.
