Chapter 10 - Dawn of a New EmpireThree months later.

The morning sun poured through the floor-to-ceiling glass windows of the executive boardroom at Vance-Sterling Global, casting a warm, golden glow across the polished mahogany table. The room was packed, but the atmosphere was radically different from that fateful day when Richard and Victoria had tried to steal my birthright.
The corrupt board members were gone, replaced by a new, vetted executive committee composed of ethical leaders and veteran administrators appointed directly by my father and federal oversight.
At the head of the table sat me—Elena Sterling—wearing a crisp, elegant ivory blazer, my newborn baby boy sleeping peacefully in a high-end designer bassinet beside my chair.
The door opened softly, and Dad walked in, carrying a fresh leather portfolio. He looked ten years younger, the heavy burden of the past finally lifted from his shoulders. He leaned down, kissed the top of my son’s head, and took his seat to my right.
“The federal asset liquidation of the Consortium is officially complete,” Dad announced, sliding the final audit report across the table. “All offshore accounts have been seized and repatriated into the Sterling Foundation. Vance-Sterling Global is 100% under our family’s control once more.”
Across the city, in a maximum-security federal penitentiary, Richard, Julian, and Victoria were currently facing multiple consecutive life sentences without the possibility of parole, their grand conspiracy reduced to a footnote in federal history books.

I looked down at my sleeping son, then over at my father, feeling a profound sense of peace and unbreakable strength. They thought they could break me against the marble floor. Instead, they had simply given me the throne.
“Let’s begin the meeting,” I said, my voice ringing clear and commanding through the boardroom. “The future of our empire starts today.”
