Chapter 9 - A New SkylineThree months later.

The sun rose over the city, casting a brilliant, warm amber glow across a very different kind of construction site on the city’s east waterfront.
There were no massive, cold corporate skyscrapers here. Instead, workers were putting the finishing touches on the Tyson Hail Community Center and Park—a sprawling, beautifully designed public space featuring community gardens, a free learning library, and a magnificent, interconnected treehouse bridge system designed for children of all backgrounds.
At the center of the park stood a bronze plaque bearing the names: Tyson Hail & Jenna Marsh — Future Architects of the World.
Warren Hail stood on the grassy hill overlooking the site, wearing a simple flannel shirt and a hard hat, holding a set of blue architectural blueprints.
Footsteps crunched on the gravel path behind him.
He turned to see Jenna running toward him, wearing a brand-new yellow coat and her signature pink backpack, holding a freshly drawn sketch in her hand.
“Warren! Warren, look! I added the secret slide to the back of the library!” she shouted, breathless and beaming with pride.
Warren caught her effortlessly, swinging her up into the air as she giggled with pure, unadulterated joy. He set her down gently on her feet, looking at the sketch with a critical, loving eye.
“You know what, Chief Architect?” Warren smiled, resting a hand on her shoulder. “I think that’s the best design you’ve drawn yet. Let’s go show Mrs. Gable.”

As they walked hand-in-hand toward the sunshine, Warren looked up at the open sky. He didn't see towers of glass or monuments to his own ego. He saw a future. He saw family.
And somewhere, carried on the morning breeze, he could almost hear a nine-year-old boy laughing in the trees, proud of the father he had left behind—and the little girl who had brought him home.
