Chapter 5 - THE ARRESTPanic finally broke through Daniel’s polished exterior. The mask of the grieving, devoted husband melted away, revealing the desperate, cornered fraudster underneath.


"You set me up!" Daniel shrieked, lunging toward the bed.
Before he could take two steps, the security guards and Agent Vance tackled him against the wall, snapping heavy steel handcuffs around his wrists with a sharp, metallic click.
"Get your hands off me! You bitch! You ruined everything!" Daniel thrashed wildly, screaming obscenities as they dragged him toward the exit of the hospital room.
Vanessa’s name echoed from his lips as his final, pathetic plea before the heavy oak door slammed shut behind him.
