Chapter 10 - The New HorizonDown in the lower district, the old St. Jude’s medical facility was a hive of federal activity. FBI agents carried boxes of documents out to waiting vans, while a handcuffed, broken-down old man in a wheelchair—wrapped in a blanket, his empire completely dismantled, his assets frozen, and his freedom erased forever—was loaded into an unmarked transport vehicle.

Victor Sterling looked up one last time at the glittering skyline of Bellmont Heights, realizing too late that the empire he thought he protected had become his own eternal tomb.

Back at the Miller estate, the iron gates stood wide open.

Not to keep people out, but to welcome the world in.

On the sprawling front lawn, workers were already laying the foundations for a charitable foundation—funded entirely by the Miller-Sterling Trust—dedicated to providing free medical care, housing, and education to every homeless child and struggling family in the city. It was named after the two women who had saved Robert’s soul: The Elena & Rose Foundation.

Standing on the grand balcony, Anna leaned against Robert’s side, holding her brass locket in one hand and pointing up at the bright blue sky with the other.

"Look, Daddy," she whispered happily, pointing to a hawk soaring high above the tree line. "It's flying so high."

Robert wrapped his arm securely around his daughter, pulling her close against his heart.

"Yes, it is, sweetheart," Robert said, looking out toward the infinite horizon where the city gleamed in the morning light. "And so are we."
