Chapter 5 - The Architect of RuinThe revelation hit Robert like a physical blow. Victor Sterling. The monster he thought he had completely destroyed.

The old man wasn't just a ruthless businessman; he was a monster who had hunted his own daughter and granddaughter across the shadows of the city for a decade. And Robert, in his blind quest for financial vengeance, had left Victor alive in a comfortable private care facility, thinking poverty and irrelevance were punishment enough.

"Where are you staying, Anna?" Robert asked, his voice suddenly hard as tempered steel. "Tell me where Grandma Rose is right now."

"Down by the railway yards... the old brick tenement on 4th Street," Anna mumbled, her eyes drifting closed as exhaustion pulled her under again. "Room 302... the door is unlocked... we ran out of keys."

Robert stood up so fast his chair scraped loudly against the hardwood floor. He pulled out his encrypted satellite phone and dialed Marcus immediately.

"Marcus. Get the armored SUV ready. We're going down to 4th Street."

"Sir? It's past midnight, and the lower district roads are completely flooded. The authorities are advising—"

"I don't give a damn about the authorities," Robert snarled, his voice carrying a dark, lethal resonance that made Marcus pause on the other end of the line. "If we aren't at the 4th Street tenements in twenty minutes, I'll fire every single security head on this estate. Move!"

Before leaving the room, Robert leaned down and kissed Anna’s hot forehead. "Hold on, little one. Your grandfather is going to settle some old debts tonight."

He locked the Rosewood Suite from the outside, deploying private biometric security that only his fingerprint could override. He then strode down to his subterranean vault, input the complex code, and pulled an object from a hidden wall compartment that hadn't seen the light of day in ten years: a heavy, legal dossier detailing every illegal land grab, bribery charge, and corporate embezzlement scheme committed by Victor Sterling—evidence Robert had gathered years ago, waiting for the right moment to destroy the old man completely.

Now, destruction wasn't enough. It was time for absolute annihilation.
