Chapter 7 - The Downfall of Richard SterlingThe color drained entirely from Richard Sterling’s face. He stood up so fast his executive chair slammed backward against the glass wall.

"You—that’s impossible!" Richard stammered, pointing a shaking finger at Mia. "That brat was supposed to be sent overseas! The nurse... the nurse swore she left the country!"
Silence descended upon the boardroom.
Unknown to Richard, every word of his outburst was being broadcast live to all senior executives, legal counsel, and the board of directors tuned into the secure remote conference feed. The confession was absolute, undeniable, and permanent.
Alexander stood up slowly, towering over Richard. The aura of absolute power radiated from him, heavy and suffocating.
"You threatened a terrified nurse, you falsified medical records, you stole my dead sister’s child, and you embezzled millions from the family trust to cover your tracks," Alexander said, his voice terrifyingly calm. "And all this time, you sat next to me pretending to be my loyal friend."
Richard lunged forward in desperation, grabbing a heavy glass paperweight from the table. "You can't prove any of this! I'll ruin you! I'll bring the whole company down with me!"
Before Richard’s hand could move another inch, the heavy boardroom doors flew open again. Four federal agents in dark suits stepped forward, flanked by corporate security.
"Richard Sterling, you are under arrest for kidnapping, extortion, fraud, and corporate embezzlement," the lead agent announced, snapping steel handcuffs tightly around Richard’s wrists.

As Richard was dragged screaming and kicking out of the boardroom, Alexander didn't even blink. He turned his attention back to the room full of stunned executives.
"Effective immediately," Alexander announced into the microphone, "all corporate health policies are restructured to cover all contract workers and their families 100%. Furthermore, I am officially recognizing my niece, Mia Reed, as the sole legal heir to the Reed estate."
