Chapter 7 - A NEW DAWN OVER THE HUDSON

Headline: "Six months later, the ultimate plot twist no one saw coming..."Six months passed.
The media storm had finally settled. The Vance-Gate scandal had dominated headlines for months, but the market didn't crash. Instead, the public rallied behind Eleanor and her long-lost daughter. Chloe and Julian had both pleaded guilty to charges of attempted murder, extortion, and corporate fraud, receiving lengthy sentences in maximum-security facilities.
The morning sun broke beautifully over the Hudson River, casting a brilliant golden glow over the Vance Estate.
The old nursery in the West Wing was finally gone. In its place was a beautiful, sunlit modern office.
Maya stood by the floor-to-ceiling windows, wearing a perfectly tailored navy blue power suit. She no longer looked small. She looked confident, her violet-gray eyes shining with a calm, inner strength.
"You're going to be late for your first board meeting, Victoria," Eleanor’s voice came from the doorway. She walked in, looking healthier and happier than she had in decades, her arm completely healed.
Maya smiled, turning around. "I told you, Mom. I’m keeping the name Maya. Maya Victoria Vance. It honors both sides of my life."
Eleanor smiled warmly, hugging her daughter tightly. "It suits you perfectly. Are you ready to take over the real estate division today?"
"More than ready," Maya smiled.
But as Eleanor walked out to wait in the limousine, Maya turned back to her desk. She picked up the old, worn wooden box she had kept from her old life. She opened it, looking at the photograph of Sarah Collins—the woman who had stolen her, but who had also raised her with love and taught her to keep her heart pure.
Maya whispered, "I kept my heart, Mom. And I found my way home."

She closed the box, tucked it safely into her executive briefcase, and walked out the door. The maid was gone. The true heiress had finally taken her throne.
The End.
