Chapter 3 - THE TRAP IS SPRUNG

Facebook Hook: The moment he took off his glasses, her jaw dropped to the floor! The ultimate double-cross revealed! 😱🔥 #Revenge #MindGames #PlotTwist #BillionaireValeria froze. The color drained from her face so fast she looked like a ghost in her expensive red suit.

She stared at Alejandro’s eyes—those deep, dark brown eyes that were currently locked onto hers with absolute, razor-sharp focus. There was no blindness. There was no dementia. There was only a man who looked like he was about to tear her world to pieces.

"You... you..." Valeria stammered, stepping backward, her hand clutching her chest. "You can see? No... that's impossible! Dr. Cordero said your optic nerves were destroyed! The crash—"

"The crash was real, Valeria," Alejandro said calmly, standing up from his wheelchair. He stood tall, his broad shoulders casting a long shadow over her. He tossed his black cane onto the mahogany desk. It made a loud, echoing clatter. "But my blindness was a gift. A gift that allowed me to see you clearly for the very first time."

He turned his gaze to Dr. Cordero, who was already trembling, his hands shaking violently.

"Dr. Cordero," Alejandro said smoothly. "Did you really think I wouldn't double-check my own medical reports? I knew you were taking bribes from my fiancée within forty-eight hours of my admission to the hospital. Every 'special medication' you prescribed was analyzed by an independent laboratory. And every penny Valeria transferred to your offshore account in Panama has been tracked by my security team."

Dr. Cordero sank into a chair, burying his face in his hands. "Alejandro... please... she threatened to ruin my reputation... she forced me..."

"Save it for the medical board," Alejandro cold-shouldered him.

"Valeria!" the notary, Marcelo Peña, panicked, grabbing the signed documents. "It doesn't matter if he can see! The signatures are valid! The power of attorney is signed and sealed! He signed it of his own free will in front of a licensed notary!"

Valeria’s eyes flared with a desperate, vicious hope. She snatched the papers from the notary. "Yes! He's right! You signed it, Alejandro! You signed over the trust, the properties, the company! It's mine! Even if you can see, you just gave me everything!"

Alejandro let out a low, dark laugh that sent shivers down Valeria’s spine.

"Valeria, you've always been beautiful, but your greed has made you remarkably stupid," Alejandro said. "Did you really think I would sign my life's work over to a snake?"

He stepped closer to her, his presence utterly dominating the room.

"Look at the document, Valeria. Look at page fourteen. Read the clauses."

Valeria’s fingers shook as she rapidly flipped through the heavy pages. Her eyes scanned the legal jargon, looking for the transfer of power.

Suddenly, her eyes locked onto a specific paragraph highlighted in bold. Her breath hitched.

"This... this isn't the Mendizábal-Valeria Trust..." she whispered, her voice cracking.

"No," Alejandro said, his voice dripping with satisfaction. "The document you had your bribed notary prepare was intercepted and replaced by my team last night. What you are holding is a Confession and Asset Restitution Agreement."

"What?!" Valeria screamed.

"By signing that document," Alejandro explained, each word hitting her like a physical blow, "you have legally admitted to the systematic embezzlement of fifteen million dollars from the Mendizábal Group's charity foundation over the past eighteen months. You have also signed over every single asset currently in your name—your apartment in Miami, your jewelry, your bank accounts—to the Mendizábal Foundation as restitution. And most importantly..."

Alejandro smiled, a cold, predatory expression.

"...you have signed a voluntary confession to the attempted poisoning of my person, admitting to the administration of scopolamine and alprazolam, verified by the medical reports and the security cameras I installed in my own kitchen."

"No... no! This is a setup! This is illegal!" Valeria shrieked, ripping the papers in her hand, tearing them into shreds and throwing them into the air. "It's void! I tore it!"

"Tear it all you want, Valeria," Alejandro said, tilting his head. "We live in the digital age. The signing was streamed live to my legal team, and a digital copy with your biometric signature and thumbprint was secured on our servers five minutes ago. In fact..."

He reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone, pressing a button.

The heavy double doors of the library opened once more.

This time, four armed officers of the Federal Police, led by a stern-looking detective in a trench coat, stepped into the room.

"Valeria Montes," the detective said, producing a pair of steel handcuffs. "You are under arrest for grand larceny, embezzlement, fraud, and attempted murder by poisoning. You have the right to remain silent..."

"No! Get away from me!" Valeria screamed, slapping the detective's hand away. She turned to Alejandro, her face distorted with a hideous, desperate rage. "You monster! You blind freak! I hate you! I always hated you! You think you've won? You're nothing without me!"

As the officers grabbed her arms, forcing them behind her back and clicking the steel cuffs into place, Valeria struggled wildly. Her perfect hair fell into her face; her expensive red suit wrinkled. She looked pathetic.

As they dragged her past the doorway, she caught sight of Elena, who was standing there, frozen in shock, tears streaming down her face.

"You!" Valeria hissed at Elena, spitting toward her. "This is your fault! You little rat! You told him! You dirty, penniless peasant—"

"Actually, Valeria," Alejandro’s voice cut through her screeching like a knife. "Elena told me nothing. She protected my children, and she protected my house, even when you abused her. She is twice the woman you could ever dream of being."

With a final, desperate cry, Valeria was dragged out of the mansion, her screams fading down the long hallway until the heavy front doors slammed shut.

The room fell into a profound, heavy silence.

Dr. Cordero and the notary were escorted out by the remaining officers, leaving only Alejandro and Elena in the massive, sunlit library.

Elena stood by the door, her hands shaking, her mind spinning. She looked at Alejandro—no longer the helpless, blind man she had spent weeks caring for, but the powerful, commanding billionaire.

She felt a sudden, sharp pang of fear. She had seen too much. She knew his secret.

"Mr... Mr. Alejandro..." she whispered, taking a step backward. "I... I will pack my things. I will leave immediately."
