Chapter 4 - THE HOUSEKEEPER’S CONFESSION

Facebook Hook: She packed her bags to run away forever, but his next words changed her life in 10 seconds... 😭❤️ #Emotional #Billionaire #Loyalty #PlotTwist"Pack your things?"

Alejandro’s voice was incredibly soft now, completely devoid of the icy anger he had directed at Valeria. He walked slowly across the library, his eyes fixed on Elena.

Elena shrank back against the doorframe, her heart pounding. "Yes, sir. I... I know you were pretending. I know you saw everything. You saw how weak I was... how I let Miss Valeria treat me, how I let her threaten me. I didn't tell you the truth because... because I was afraid. I was a coward."

"A coward?" Alejandro stopped just a few feet away from her. He looked down at her face, his gaze softening as he saw the faint bruise on her cheek. Gently, with a tenderness she had never experienced in this house, he raised his hand and touched her face, his thumb lightly brushing over the bruised skin.

Elena shivered, but she didn't pull away. His touch was warm, safe.

"You are the bravest woman I have ever met, Elena," Alejandro said softly. "You stood between a monster and my nephews. You took a blow meant for them. You bore the humiliation, the threats, and the cruelty, all to protect two children who aren't even your blood, and to save your mother's life. That is not cowardice. That is love."

"But... I lied to you," she whispered, her eyes filling with fresh tears. "I told you I fell. I didn't protect you from her... I let her give you that tea..."

"I knew about the tea long before you did, Elena," Alejandro revealed, giving her a reassuring smile. "And I saw how you tried to stop me from signing today. You risked everything—your job, your mother's medical care, your safety—to warn a man you thought was blind and helpless. You have nothing to apologize for."

Elena looked up into his dark eyes. For the first time, she saw him clearly. He wasn't just a powerful tycoon; he was a man who had been deeply hurt, betrayed by the woman he thought he loved, yet who still possessed a profound capacity for kindness.

"What... what will happen to Mateo and Santi now?" Elena asked, her voice hushed.

"They will stay here, with me," Alejandro said. "This is their home. But they need someone to love them. They need the only person who has ever shown them true, unconditional warmth."

He took her hands in his. Her small, rough hands, worn from hard work, contrasted beautifully with his strong, smooth ones.

"Elena, I don't want you to pack your bags to leave," Alejandro said, his voice earnest. "I want you to stay. Not as a housekeeper. Not as a servant."

Elena blinked, her heart skipping a beat. "Then... as what, sir?"

"As the manager of this estate, and the legal guardian of my nephews alongside me," Alejandro proposed. "I will ensure your mother is transferred to the private wing of the best hospital in Monterrey tomorrow. The best specialists in the country will handle her dialysis and get her on the priority transplant list. All expenses will be paid by the Mendizábal Group."

Elena gasped, her hands flying to her mouth. "Mr. Alejandro... no... I cannot accept such a thing! It is too much! I don't have the money to pay you back—"

"You have already paid me, Elena," Alejandro interrupted, his eyes shining. "You paid me with your loyalty. You paid me by showing me that there is still truth and goodness in this world, even when I was surrounded by lies. Accept this. Please. For your mother, and for the boys."

Elena looked at him, her chest swelling with a wave of relief and gratitude so intense she could barely breathe. For months, she had carried the crushing weight of her mother's illness and the terror of poverty on her young shoulders. Now, in the span of a single morning, the nightmare was over.

"Thank you..." she sobbed, burying her face in her hands. "Thank you, Alejandro..."

Alejandro gently pulled her into his arms, holding her close. As she cried against his chest, he rested his chin on her hair, looking out the library window.

For the first time in a month, he felt a genuine sense of peace.

But as he held her, his phone in his pocket vibrated. He pulled it out, keeping his arm around Elena.

It was a text message from his head of security.

Sir, we have a major problem. During Valeria’s transport to the detention facility, her vehicle was intercepted. She has escaped.

Alejandro’s eyes narrowed, the warmth in his expression instantly freezing over.

The nightmare wasn't over yet.
