Chapter 10 - The Ultimate TwistThree months later, the headlines across every major news network read: THE STERLING FALL: CORRUPTION, MURDER, AND THE MYSTERIOUS HEIRESS.

Inside the newly renovated boardroom of Sterling Global Enterprises, sunlight streamed through towering glass windows, illuminating the polished mahogany conference table.
Claire sat at the head of the table, wearing a sharp, tailored charcoal suit. Her hair was pulled back into a sleek bun, and her expression was unbreakable. The bruises from that fateful night had faded, replaced by the hardened armor of a survivor who had looked into the abyss and conquered it.
The heavy oak doors opened. Director Hayes walked in, holding a thick manila envelope and a set of official corporate keys.
"The federal audit is officially complete, Miss Vance," Hayes said, placing the folder neatly on the desk. "All assets recovered from Eleanor and Ethan’s offshore accounts have been legally transferred back to the primary beneficiary listed in Arthur Sterling’s original, unaltered will."
Claire opened the folder. Inside was the true, legal deed to the entire estate and multi-billion-dollar corporation.
"And Eleanor and Ethan?" Claire asked, her voice steady and emotionless.
"Eleanor took a plea deal—testifying against the remaining syndicate members in exchange for life imprisonment instead of maximum security," Hayes replied, leaning against the edge of the table. "As for Ethan... he survived the fall with minor physical injuries. But during his psychological evaluation last week, he requested to speak with you personally. He claims he has one final secret to tell you about your biological parents."
Claire slowly closed the folder. She looked up at Hayes, a faint, cryptic smile touching the corners of her lips—a smile that didn't reach her eyes.

"Tell Ethan he can keep his secrets," Claire said softly, standing up and buttoning her jacket as she looked out over the city skyline. "My parents died thirty years ago. And as for the Sterling name... I’ve rewritten the history books."
She turned away from the window, leaving Hayes standing in silence as she walked out to claim her empire—completely unaware that a familiar, unread letter was already waiting on her private desk, bearing a postmark from a maximum-security prison and a single, chilling sentence: “Claire, you didn't find the real vault... and I left the door open.”
