CHAPTER 3 — THE FALL OF HAMMER

Within hours, the academy was transformed.

Investigators arrived without warning.

Training schedules stopped.

Offices were sealed.

Personnel records disappeared into locked evidence cases.

Cadets whispered in disbelief as senior officers were interviewed one after another.

Hammer insisted everything was standard discipline.

Until former recruits began speaking.

One after another.

Dozens.

Then hundreds.

Years of complaints that had never reached headquarters suddenly fit together like pieces of the same puzzle.

Humiliation.

Intimidation.

Abuse disguised as leadership.

The young woman never celebrated.

She simply answered every question with calm professionalism.

Late that evening, Hammer stood alone inside his office.

For the first time...

There was no one left to intimidate.

The academy commander entered quietly.

"Your command has been suspended pending investigation."

Hammer looked toward the parade ground through his window.

The same place where thousands had once feared him.

Now...

No one saluted.

No one avoided his eyes.

Outside, the young cadet picked up the cap that had fallen onto the concrete earlier that morning.

She brushed away the dust.

Placed it back on her head.

Then walked away without looking back.

A week later, Northern Corps held its first formation under new leadership.

The commander addressed every cadet.

"Respect creates stronger soldiers than fear ever could."

For a long moment...

No one spoke.

Then the entire parade ground erupted into applause.

Not because Hammer had fallen.

But because, for the first time in years...

No one was afraid anymore.

May you like

Sometimes the strongest soldier isn't the loudest person on the parade ground...

...it's the one who quietly carries the truth in their pocket.
