Chapter 3 - The Blind Man’s StrategyChidi didn't panic. He didn't shout or drop his cane. Instead, a chilling, razor-sharp smile slowly spread across his lips—the exact expression that had once made the corporate boardrooms of Lagos tremble before his accident.

“I have suspected as much for three years,” Chidi said softly, reaching out to gently trace the air until his warm fingers brushed my cheek. “My uncle, Chief Eze, and my cousin wanted the Nwosu logistics monopoly. They thought blinding me would make me a helpless spectator to my own execution.”

“They stole my mother’s painting to hide the evidence,” I added, my heart pounding against my ribs. “She knew too much. That’s why she died under ‘suspicious circumstances’ right after your crash.”

Chidi’s hand dropped to my wrist, his grip firm, steady, and full of absolute resolve.

“Then we play their game, Adaeze,” Chidi murmured, his blind eyes fixed directly on mine as if he could see straight into my soul. “They think you are a quiet, obedient pawn traded off to a blind man. Let them celebrate. Tomorrow is the Nwosu-Eze corporate merger gala. That is where we spring the trap.”

I looked at him—not with pity, not as a nurse caring for a broken patient, but as an equal partner in a war for vengeance.

“Show me what you need me to do,” I said.
