Richard’s high-priced lawyers immediately grabbed their briefcases, backed away from him, and began whispering frantically among themselves before officially announcing their withdrawal as his legal counsel on the spot.
Judge Harrison didn't hesitate for a single second.
“Mr. Richard Mercer,” Judge Harrison announced, banging his gavel down with a sharp, resounding crack that silenced the room instantly. “Temporary guardianship of the minor child Noah Mercer is hereby revoked, with full, permanent custody restored unconditionally to his mother, Claire Mercer.”
The judge didn't stop there.
“Furthermore, based on the evidence of severe coercion, perjury, and financial fraud, I am issuing an immediate bench warrant for your arrest.”
Before Richard could take a step toward the exit, two federal marshals stepped up behind him. Heavy steel handcuffs snapped onto his wrists with a sharp, metallic click.

“Daniel didn't leave me a legacy of greed, Richard,” I said, looking him straight in the eye with quiet, unbreakable strength. “He left me a legacy of truth.”
