She looked at Mark—or Mark Hale—and saw the leather jacket not as a sign of rugged simplicity, but as a carefully constructed costume.

"You’re him," Diana whispered, the reality crashing down. "The billionaire who owns the city’s logistics."
Mark sighed, his eyes losing their playful glint. "I’m just Mark, Diana. Please."

She grabbed the twins' hands, ready to bolt, but Mark stepped forward, his hand raised in a plea. "I didn't know it was you. I never look at the names of the buildings I replace. That’s my sin, and I’m trying to fix it."
