Chapter 16 - The Falling Dominos

Heavy footfalls echoed through the carpeted hallway outside.
A squad of armed federal marshals swept into the executive suite, weapons raised, led by the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation himself.
"Marcus Sterling!" the Director shouted. "Step away from the window and put your hands behind your head! You are under arrest for conspiracy to commit treason, money laundering, and the first-degree murder of Helena Sterling!"
Marcus looked at the marshals, then at the sheer drop of forty-five stories outside the window behind him, and finally at me. The arrogant mastermind who had controlled my life from behind the curtains was now completely cornered, stripped of his money, his power, and his freedom.
He let out a raspy, defeated laugh and slowly put his hands on his head. The marshals tackled him to the ground, pulling his arms behind his back and clicking the steel handcuffs into place.
As they dragged him toward the door, Marcus turned his head to look at me one last time. "You think you've won, Victoria? You think taking this company will bring you peace?"
"I don't need peace, Marcus," I replied, standing tall as his empire crumbled around him. "I need justice. And today, I got it."
Within forty-eight hours, the dominoes fell with terrifying speed.
The story hit international news, exploding across television, newspapers, and social media. The headlines were relentless:
