Chapter 15 - The Execution at Wall StreetThe trading floor of the New York Stock Exchange was a deafening roar of shouting brokers, flashing tickers, and frantic digital displays.

Julian Vance stood in his private glass-walled corner office overlooking the financial district, sipping espresso, watching his stock futures climb as word leaked out that Vanguard Holdings was making a major play against Keane Meridian’s supply chain.
He felt invincible.
The intercom on his mahogany desk buzzed sharply.
“Mr. Vance?” his executive assistant’s voice trembled slightly. “You have an urgent courier delivery at the front desk. Refused to leave it with security. Insisted on handing it to you personally.”
“Send them in,” Julian smirked, adjusting his silk tie.
The heavy glass door of his office pushed open. It wasn't a courier.
It was Mara Bennett, flanked by two federal marshals and a senior corporate restructuring judge. She carried a sleek leather briefcase and walked with the absolute confidence of a general entering a conquered city.
Julian’s smile faltered. “What is the meaning of this? You’re trespassing!”
“Mr. Vance,” Mara said, her voice cutting cleanly through the ambient noise of the trading floor below. She popped the latches of her briefcase and pulled out a thick stack of legal documents, slamming them down onto his desk. “On behalf of Keane Meridian Capital, I am serving you with an immediate notice of asset forfeiture, a temporary restraining order on all Vanguard accounts, and a federal injunction for corporate espionage and bad-faith acquisition.”
Julian laughed nervously, though the color was rapidly draining from his face. “You’re out of your mind! I filed a legal lease acquisition in New Jersey fair and square! You have no legal standing to—!”
“Section fourteen of the master Mercer restructuring agreement,” Mara interrupted smoothly, sliding a highlighted clause across the desk. “When you attempted to acquire the New Jersey terminal through an offshore shell, you legally triggered a cross-collateralization clause tied directly to your parent company’s primary liquidity reserves.”
Julian snatched the paper, his eyes scanning the legal jargon. As the numbers registered in his brain, his hands began to shake violently.
“No…” he whispered, his face turning ghostly white. “This… this means our entire liquidity reserve is frozen. Every subsidiary we own… it all reverts to Keane Meridian.”

“Effective three minutes ago,” Mara said, checking her gold wristwatch. “Your accounts are locked, your assets are seized, and your trading privileges on this exchange have been suspended pending a federal fraud investigation.”
Julian stared at her in utter horror, realizing too late that he hadn't been setting a trap for Darren Keane. He had simply walked directly into one that had been waiting for him all along.
