Chapter 10 - The MasterpieceOne year later.

The grand opening of the Mercer-Bennett Pediatric Wing at St. Catherine’s was a national event.
Camera flashes popped against the polished glass facade. Local news crews clamored for interviews with the celebrated architectural duo—father and son—who had designed the state-of-the-art healing facility.
Inside the main atrium, beneath a soaring glass dome that let in the warm afternoon sunlight, hundreds of people gathered to celebrate.
Standing near the central fountain, Robert Mercer—now recovered and vibrant—watched proudly as his son and grandson stood side-by-side on the podium, cutting the ceremonial red ribbon alongside Valerie.
As the applause erupted through the hall, Lucas leaned over to his mother and father, his blue eyes shining with quiet joy.
"Mom, Dad... thank you," Lucas whispered, his voice thick with emotion. "For never giving up on a ghost."
Valerie smiled, tears of pure happiness brimming in her eyes. She reached out, pulling both Daniel and Lucas into a fierce, unbreakable embrace.
Daniel looked over his son’s shoulder, meeting Valerie’s gaze across the circle.
The photograph from Room 428 was no longer a symbol of tragedy. It was the prologue to a miracle.
The divorce papers, the corporate greed, the decades of grief—all of it dissolved into the golden light pouring down from the glass dome above.
