Chapter 5 - THE BLOODSTAINED UNIFORMAs the pieces fell into place, memories of my night shifts at Coda began flashing through my mind.

"The basement ventilation," I said suddenly, leaning forward as much as my wrapped ribs allowed. "Every Thursday night, Ricky locks the service office down by the boiler room. I always heard metal clicking through the copper pipes while I was scrubbing the hallway. He never brings the duffel bag out the front entrance."
Damian glanced at Vincent, giving a single, subtle nod. Vincent immediately pulled out an encrypted phone and issued an order to a team already stationed at the club.
Twenty minutes later, Vincent’s phone buzzed with a incoming data transmission.
When Vincent looked up from the screen, his face was stone-cold. He walked over to Damian's desk, placing a tablet down in front of us.
"They found the duffel bag hidden inside the false drywall behind the boiler room unit," Vincent reported. "Inside was sixty-two thousand dollars in cash, altered physical ledgers, and an unregistered firearm."

Vincent paused, his gaze shifting directly to me with a solemn intensity.
"The gun was wrapped in a bloodstained Coda housekeeping uniform," Vincent revealed softly. "The name tag had been violently torn away... but the embroidery thread matching Maya's size small apron was still attached to the collar."
