Chapter 9 - THE EVENING PEACEThree weeks later, the atmosphere inside Coda nightclub was unrecognizable.

The air was filled with smooth jazz, warm light, and the laughter of patrons enjoying a peaceful evening. The staff worked with smiles on their faces, knowing they were paid fairly, protected, and respected by management.
I stood near the upper balcony, wearing a tailored black suit, holding my clipboard as I reviewed the night's inventory sheets.
Footsteps sounded behind me.
Damian walked up, holding two cups of hot coffee, handing one to me.
"Everything balanced on the ledger tonight, Supervisor?" Damian asked, leaning against the balcony railing with an amused expression.

"To the penny, Mr. Russo," I smiled, taking a sip of the warm coffee. "And no one had to steal forty dollars to keep their lights on."
Damian looked at me, his dark eyes shining with warmth. "I told you, Maya... under my roof, no one suffers in silence ever again."
