CHAPTER 6 – Ethan's Final Betrayal Changed Everything
The jury stared at Ethan in disbelief.
Even his own attorney looked shocked.
"This is impossible," Ethan shouted.
"He's lying!"
Lucas calmly reached into his briefcase.
He removed a small waterproof metal box.
"This was recovered from the wreckage."
Inside were documents.
USB drives.
Insurance contracts.
And one voice recorder.
The audio played through the courtroom speakers.
Ethan's younger voice echoed across the room.
"Once Lucas is gone... Richard will have only Amelia."

The courtroom froze.

"You took everything from me!" he screamed at Amelia, who had just arrived with investigators.
Amelia slowly stepped forward.
"No, Ethan."
"I only stopped you from taking everything from everyone else."
For a long moment...
No one moved.
Then Ethan looked down at the streets below.
He realized there was nowhere left to run.
No fortune.

No one waiting for him.
He slowly dropped to his knees as officers placed him in handcuffs.
Weeks later, the verdict was announced.

Money laundering.
He was sentenced to spend the rest of his life behind bars without the possibility of parole.
As Amelia left the courthouse, Lucas handed her a small envelope.
