The sun was setting over the private terrace of Marcone Manor, painting the sky in brilliant shades of gold, crimson, and purple.
Sitting on a wide leather armchair on the terrace was Lorenzo, holding a beautiful eighteen-month-old boy with dark curly hair and sharp hazel eyes—Vito Lorenzo Moretti Jr.

Sophia smiled, looking at the stone corridor leading to the gardens, where white roses now bloomed by the thousands.
"I remember thinking my life was over," Sophia whispered, turning her face to look into his eyes. "I thought we were going to disappear."
Lorenzo leaned down, his lips brushing against hers in a slow, deep, eternal kiss that tasted of sweet summer and deep devotion.
"You didn't disappear, my love," Lorenzo growled softly against her lips. "You became my whole world."
