Chapter 2 - The Crimson Warning Ignored

A collective gasp of sheer disbelief echoed through the hall, instantly replaced by suffocating, predatory laughter.
"Save his life?" Victoria cackled, her voice dripping with venom as she lowered her hand. She turned to the crowd of elite guests, rolling her eyes in theatrical mockery. "Did you all hear that? The lowly waitress thinks she’s a hero! My son is the healthiest man in this city, surrounded by the finest doctors money can buy, and this peasant claims she saved him from a bowl of gourmet soup!"
Jonathan tried to step back, but his legs buckled slightly. He grabbed the edge of the surviving table to steady himself, his throat tightening as if an invisible hand were crushing his windpipe. His lips turned a terrifying shade of blue, and a thin film of cold sweat broke out across his forehead. Yet, trapped in the intoxicating haze of high-society arrogance, no one bothered to look at the groom. All eyes remained locked on the broken waitress kneeling in the debris.
"Security!" Victoria barked, her patience wearing dangerously thin. "Drag this delusional beggar out of my sight. Throw her into the alley and confiscate whatever cheap phone she's clutching before she tries to record a pity-party video for social media."
Two massive, tuxedo-clad security guards—each built like a professional wrestler—stormed forward. They grabbed Clara by her arms, hoisting her violently to her feet. The rough treatment sent a sharp pain shooting through her shoulders, but she refused to break eye contact with Victoria.
"You are making a fatal mistake," Clara’s voice cut through the murmurs of the crowd like a razor blade. It wasn't the voice of a terrified employee; it was the chilling, unshakable calm of a predator cornering its prey. "Every single second you waste keeping me from exposing the truth is another second closer to the morgue for Jonathan."

"Enough of your psychopathic theatrics!" Victoria shrieked, waving her hand dismissively. "Get her out of my sight! The wedding will resume immediately. Ignore this trash."
As the guards began dragging Clara backward toward the heavy oak exit doors, her thumb moved with calculated precision. She unlocked her phone, tapped a single, encrypted file labeled 'Kitchen Cam - Confidential', and hit broadcast.
