Chapter 6 - The Bloodbath in the Master Suite

Emma reacted purely on maternal adrenaline. She shoved the heavy rocking chair backward into Marcus’s path, sending him stumbling forward.

“Run!” Mrs. Vance cried out, her conscience finally breaking through her loyalty to her nephew as she realized they were going to harm the babies.

Marcus cursed, regaining his balance and swatting the chair aside. He lunged toward the cribs where Anthony and Lucia were beginning to stir. “Get out of the way, you stupid bitch!”

Emma grabbed a heavy brass candlestick from the mantelpiece and swung it with all her might, connecting squarely with Marcus’s jaw. The sound of bone cracking echoed through the luxurious suite. Marcus staggered backward, dropping the syringe onto the plush carpet as blood poured from his nose.

“You little—” Marcus roared, drawing a concealed switchblade from his jacket pocket.

Before he could lunge again, the heavy oak door was blown violently off its hinges with a deafening crash.

Gabriel Moretti stood in the splintered doorway. His eyes were wide, dilated, and burning with a psychotic, murderous rage. He didn’t draw a gun; he moved like a predatory animal protecting its den.

Marcus turned around, terror freezing him in place. “Gabe—wait! It’s just—!”

Gabriel crossed the room in two massive strides. He grabbed Marcus by the throat with one hand, lifting the grown man a full six inches off the floor as if he weighed nothing. Marcus clawed desperately at Gabriel’s wrists, his face turning a deep, terrifying shade of purple.

“You touched my door,” Gabriel whispered, his voice vibrating with lethal calm. “You threatened my children. And you put your hands on her.”

“Gabe... please...” Marcus choked out.

With a sickening crunch, Gabriel slammed Marcus’s head against the marble fireplace mantel. The CFO went limp instantly, collapsing into a crumpled heap on the floor, blood pooling beneath his head.

Gabriel stood over the body, breathing heavily, his knuckles bruised and bleeding. Slowly, he turned his head and looked at Mrs. Vance, who had fallen to her knees in absolute terror.

“Pack your bags, Mrs. Vance,” Gabriel said coldly. “If you’re still in this house in ten minutes, I won't hesitate to give you the same fate.”

Mrs. Vance scrambled backward out of the room without uttering a single word.

Gabriel turned toward Emma. His terrifying facade melted away instantly, replaced by raw, desperate panic. He rushed to her side, his large hands gripping her shoulders, checking her over for any injuries.

“Are you hurt? Did he touch you?” Gabriel demanded, his voice cracking.

Emma shook her head, tears finally spilling over her lashes as the adrenaline wore off. “I’m okay, Gabriel. The babies... the babies are safe.”

Gabriel pulled her into his arms, burying his face in her hair as his own body shook with adrenaline-fueled shock. “It ends tonight,” Gabriel swore fiercely against her ear. “Gianni thinks he’s won. Tonight, I take everything back.”
