CHAPTER 1: THE BOY EVERYONE IGNORED

Nobody noticed the boy sitting alone at the end of the train.

His gray hoodie covered half of his face. His old backpack was tightly held against his chest like it contained something more valuable than money. Every passenger looked at him and made the same assumption…

“He’s just another troubled kid.”

Some people moved away from him. Others stared with judgment.

But nobody asked the one question that mattered.

“Why does a teenager look like he has already lost everything?”

The boy’s name was Ethan.

Only seventeen years old, Ethan had spent the last few months sleeping wherever he could find a safe place. A train station bench. An abandoned building. Sometimes, when he was lucky, a stranger’s kindness gave him a warm meal.

But Ethan wasn’t always like this.

A few months earlier, he had a home, a family, and dreams of becoming a doctor.

Until one night changed everything.

His father, the only person who protected him, suddenly disappeared. The police called it an accident.

But Ethan knew the truth.

Someone had wanted his father gone.

After his father’s death, Ethan discovered that his entire family fortune had been stolen. The people he trusted most had betrayed him.

Even worse…

The person who destroyed his family was someone he never expected.

Someone close enough to call him “family.”

Now Ethan carried the only thing left from his father — an old envelope hidden inside his backpack.

An envelope that could expose the biggest secret in the city.

But Ethan was afraid.

Because the people who wanted that secret buried were still looking for him.

That morning, as the train moved through the city, an elderly woman named Margaret sat across from Ethan.

Unlike everyone else, she didn’t look at his dirty clothes.

She looked at his eyes.

And she noticed something nobody else did.

A small scar on his hand.

A scar she had seen before.

Margaret slowly leaned closer.

“Where did you get that mark?” she asked.

Ethan immediately pulled his hand away.

“Please… leave me alone.”

But Margaret’s face suddenly changed.

Because she recognized the symbol carved beside the scar.

It was the same symbol that belonged to a powerful family she had worked for twenty years ago.

A family that was supposed to be destroyed.

A family everyone believed no longer existed.

“Who gave you that?” Margaret whispered.

Ethan looked confused.

“My father.”

The old woman froze.

“Your father’s name…”

Ethan hesitated.

“Daniel Carter.”

The entire train seemed silent.

Margaret’s eyes filled with shock.

Because Daniel Carter wasn’t just a normal man.

He was the billionaire genius who disappeared after exposing corruption inside one of America’s largest companies.

The man everyone believed was dead.

Margaret grabbed Ethan’s arm gently.

“You need to get off this train right now.”

Ethan looked frightened.

“Why?”

The old woman looked around nervously.

“Because if they know you are alive… they will come for you.”

At that moment, the train doors opened.

A man in a black coat stepped inside.

He looked directly at Ethan.

May you like

And smiled.

Because he had finally found him.
