Six months after the trial, the morning sun rose bright and warm over a rebuilt Kestrel River Bridge.
At Westbank Medical Center, the trauma pager sat quietly on the nurse's station counter.
Nora Bellamy stood pouring a fresh cup of coffee, her hair neatly tied back, a small smile playing on her lips. Tessa walked past, holding a stack of patient charts.
"Coffee's fresh, Nora," Tessa said with a grin.
"Good," Nora replied, taking a sip.
