CHAPTER 7 – “The Old Man Wasn't Lily's Grandfather… He Was the Founder of the Deadliest Secret Family in America.”

The first rays of dawn had barely touched the sky when Agent Cole arrived at Blackwood Manor.

The mansion stood alone on a cliff overlooking the ocean.

Built more than a century ago, it looked abandoned.

But every window was lit.

Inside, dozens of security cameras followed his every step.

The massive front door slowly opened by itself.

Samuel Blackwood stood waiting.

His silver hair, elegant suit, and calm smile made him look more like a respected judge than a man connected to decades of bloodshed.

Lily sat beside him, unharmed, quietly reading an old storybook.

The moment she saw Agent Cole, she smiled.

"I'm okay."

Cole sighed with relief.

"Then let her go."

Samuel shook his head.

"I can't."

"Why not?"

"Because the moment Lily leaves this house... she'll be dead within twenty-four hours."

Cole frowned.

"You expect me to believe that?"

Samuel walked toward a giant portrait hanging above the fireplace.

It showed thirteen wealthy families standing together in 1928.

"This..."

"...is where the nightmare began."

He pointed to the center of the photograph.

"The Blackwood fortune was never owned by one family."

"It belonged to thirteen."

The room fell silent.

Samuel explained that, nearly a century earlier, America's most powerful industrial families had created a secret alliance known as The Crown Circle.

Publicly, they built hospitals, banks, universities, and charities.

Privately...

They manipulated elections.

Destroyed competitors.

Controlled judges.

And erased anyone who threatened their empire.

The Blackwood inheritance wasn't simply money.

It contained the names, financial records, hidden accounts, and criminal secrets of every family in the alliance.

Whoever controlled the inheritance...

Controlled all thirteen families.

Agent Cole finally understood.

"This isn't about eight billion dollars."

Samuel nodded.

"It's about power."

Meanwhile, hundreds of miles away, the courtroom investigation took a shocking turn.

Forensic experts finished analyzing Clara Hawthorne's remains.

The DNA results didn't match.

The skeleton wasn't Clara.

It wasn't even a woman.

Richard stared at the report in disbelief.

Then he began laughing uncontrollably.

"You've been chasing the wrong victim for twenty years."

The prosecutor froze.

"If those aren't Clara's remains..."

"Then where is she?"

Richard slowly looked toward the courtroom window.

"She's already inside your investigation."

At that exact moment, every phone in the courtroom buzzed simultaneously.

An emergency alert appeared on every screen.

FBI AGENT COLE — WANTED FOR TREASON

The courtroom exploded.

The prosecutor shouted, "That's impossible!"

But another message arrived seconds later.

Agent Cole has stolen classified evidence and kidnapped a federal witness. Arrest immediately.

Inside Blackwood Manor, Cole's phone displayed the same alert.

He looked up at Samuel.

"You set me up."

Samuel's expression turned cold.

"No, Agent."

"I just showed you how powerful The Crown Circle really is."

Outside...

The sound of helicopters filled the air.

Military vehicles surrounded the mansion from every direction.

Loudspeakers echoed across the cliffs.

"Agent Cole!"

"You are under arrest for kidnapping Lily Hawthorne!"

Cole slowly turned toward Samuel.

"You knew this would happen."

Samuel nodded.

"Now you have only one choice."

"What choice?"

Samuel handed him a small brass key.

"Go to the cellar."

"There you'll discover the one truth that can destroy The Crown Circle forever."

Cole looked at the key.

Engraved on it were three chilling words.

"Open After Death."

As explosions rocked the front gates and armed soldiers stormed toward the mansion...

Cole realized the final battle had already begun.

And someone inside Blackwood Manor...

Had been waiting decades for this exact moment.
