Chapter 10 - The Ultimate Dinner PartySix months later.

The Moretti estate was bathed in golden evening light. But tonight, it wasn't a secret summit. It was the annual convention of the Eastern Seaboard Crime Syndicate—a gathering of over thirty family heads, international cartel leaders, and high-level politicians.

The grand dining room was filled with soft jazz music, glittering chandeliers, and the soft hum of power.

At the head of the long table sat Lucian Moretti, dressed in an immaculate Italian tux, a glass of vintage scotch in his hand. But he wasn't sitting at the head alone.

Beside him sat a second throne-like chair.

The double doors opened, and the room fell completely silent.

Elena entered.

She was breathtaking. She wore a tailored velvet emerald-green gown that hugged her voluptuous curves, a stunning diamond necklace resting on her collarbone—the inherited crest of the High Council. She walked with the absolute authority of a woman who ruled the underworld with an iron fist and an unmatched palate.

Behind her, staff members carried massive silver platters, serving the thirty guests a feast that smelled like absolute heaven—a masterclass of old-world Italian tradition and modern culinary perfection.

Don Falcone, sitting three seats down, took a bite of his food, closing his eyes in sheer bliss before raising his glass toward Elena. "To the Empress."

"To the Empress!" the entire room echoed in unison, thirty powerful men raising their glasses in absolute surrender to the woman who controlled their territories, their finances, and their appetites.

Lucian reached under the table, taking Elena’s hand in his, intertwining their fingers. He leaned over, whispering into her ear.

"They're eating out of the palm of your hand," Lucian murmured.

"Of course they are," Elena replied with a subtle, radiant smile, taking a sip of her champagne. "Men are simple creatures, my love. Give them a war, and they destroy each other. Give them a feast, and they bow."

"And what about me?" Lucian whispered, his dark eyes burning with desire as he pulled her slightly closer. "What do I get?"

Elena looked at him, her eyes flashing with playful, wicked intent.

"You get to wash the dishes tonight, Boss."

May you like

Lucian laughed—a rich, triumphant sound that echoed through the grand hall. The war was over. The empire was absolute. And the mafia boss who had once mocked his wife’s cooking now ruled the world at her side.
