Chapter 3 - The Boardroom Coup

Two weeks later, the transformation was complete. The woman who once scrubbed floors in stained aprons now walked through the glass doors of Sterling Global wearing a tailored Chanel suit. As Julian’s new executive assistant, Alejandro had unprecedented access to every financial record, every password, and every dirty secret the company held.
Victoria Sterling, now legally separated and burning through what was left of her frozen bank accounts, was frantic. She had been spotted lurking around the corporate headquarters, barred by security.
Inside the executive boardroom, the atmosphere was tense. The annual shareholders' meeting was in less than an hour. Julian was preparing his speech to secure a multi-billion-dollar merger with a European conglomerate.
"Alejandro, do you have the final financial audits?" Julian asked, adjusting his cuffs as he reviewed his notes. "The board needs to see absolute stability."
"Right here, Julian," Alejandro said, handing him a sleek silver flash drive. "Everything is perfectly aligned. The board will be speechless."
She wasn't lying. They would be speechless. But not for the reasons Julian thought. Over the last fourteen days, Alejandro had worked late into the night, rerouting the offshore accounts listed in the red folder back into her own newly established trust fund—the trust fund originally created for Elena Sterling.
The heavy oak doors of the boardroom swung open. The board members took their seats, followed by the lead investors. But just before the doors closed, a loud commotion echoed from the hallway.
"Get your hands off me! I am still a Sterling!"
Victoria burst into the room, her hair disheveled, her eyes wild with fury. Security guards tried to restrain her, but she broke free, slamming a stack of papers onto the central table.
"Julian! You think you can replace me with that street rat?" Victoria screamed, pointing a trembling, manicured finger at Alejandro. "You think you’re safe? She’s playing you! Look at what she’s been doing to the company accounts!"
Julian stood up, his face dark with rage. "Victoria, have you completely lost your mind? Security, drag her out!"
"No, wait!" one of the senior board members shouted, staring at his laptop screen. "Julian... look at the main monitor. What is this?"

Julian turned around. The massive projector screen behind him wasn't displaying the merger presentation. Instead, it displayed a live, ticking countdown of Sterling Global’s liquid assets draining to zero, accompanied by a giant, high-resolution scan of a twenty-five-year-old DNA test.
💥 CHILLING HOOK FOR THE NEXT CHAP: Julian stared at the DNA results connecting Alejandro to the Sterling bloodline. He slowly turned around to look at Alejandro, but the submissive maid was gone. In her place stood a woman with a cold, victorious smile, flanked by three federal agents who had just entered the room.
