Chapter 4 - THE ALLIANCE REVEALEDThe ballroom was dead silent save for Conrad’s ragged, furious breathing as security held him in place. Damian was backed up against a pillar, sweating profusely, frantically tapping on his phone trying to call lawyers who had already blocked his number.

Elena stepped down from the altar, her wedding dress swishing softly against the floor, and walked over to stand beside me. She looped her arm through mine with absolute pride.
“Thank you, Aunt Elise,” Elena whispered softly, her eyes shining. “For everything.”
“You didn't need my help to win against them, Elena,” I replied, squeezing her hand gently. “You’re a brilliant woman. I merely gave you the tactical advantage to make sure they couldn't cheat their way out of it.”
Julian joined us, his expression grim yet relieved. “So, what’s the next move? The board is ours, the debt is leveraged, and the feds have the evidence. But Conrad still owns the family estate on Cliffside Drive.”
I turned my gaze back toward my sputtering, enraged father.
“Let him keep the house for tonight,” I said coldly. “Let him sleep in that empty, hollow mansion surrounded by all the gold he traded his soul for. Tomorrow morning, the bank foreclosure notice will be nailed to his front door.”
Conrad stopped struggling. His wild eyes locked onto mine, wide with absolute horror.
“You... you’re taking Cliffside?” Conrad whispered, his voice trembling with a mixture of disbelief and profound dread. “That’s our home. That’s our legacy!”
“It was never a home, Conrad,” I said, walking slowly toward him until I was standing right in front of him. I looked up into his defeated, wrinkled face—the face of a tyrant who had finally run out of kingdoms to conquer. “It was a prison. And tomorrow, the warden is locking you out.”
Damian shoved his way past a security guard, panic overriding his cowardice. “You can't do this! We’re your blood! We have rights!”
“Blood?” I laughed, a sharp, humorless sound. “The only thing we share is DNA, Damian. And quite frankly, if science allowed it, I’d file a motion to divorce you all from my genetic tree.”
Elena cleared her throat into the microphone, breaking the suffocating tension in the room.
“Ladies and gentlemen,” Elena announced, her voice ringing out with poise and grace. “The wedding reception will continue in the garden terrace. Drinks, dinner, and dancing are still very much on the schedule. Please, enjoy yourselves.”

The guests, desperate for an escape from the toxic family drama, began murmuring and drifting toward the glass doors leading to the illuminated gardens. Within minutes, the grand ballroom was cleared of spectators, leaving only the wreckage of the Voss dynasty.
Conrad slumped forward, the physical weight of his eighty years crashing down on him all at once. The invincible titan was gone. Only a broken, bitter old man remained.
