Chapter 7 - A Brand New Seating Chart

The clock struck midnight.

Mauricio eagerly clicked the refresh button on his laptop. A message popped up on his screen: TRANSFER DENIED. ACCOUNT FROZEN BY FEDERAL AUTHORITIES.

Before he could even process the words, the heavy wooden doors of the Monterrey mansion were kicked open.

"Federal Police! Hands where we can see them!"

Doña Leonor shrieked as armed officers flooded the room, pinning Mauricio to the floor. The emerald-green gown she was so proud of was stained with spilled wine as she was pushed against the wall, handcuffs cold against her wrists as an accomplice to corporate fraud.

One Year Later...The gardens of the same breathtaking hacienda in Jalisco were blooming once more.

This time, there was no white canopy, no snobbish elite whispering in the corners, and absolutely no folding chairs near the garbage.

The scent of wet earth and blooming bougainvillea filled the air as two hundred guests—genuine friends, loyal employees, and loving family members—took their seats.

At the very center of the magnificent head table, decorated with towering gold vases and the finest crystal, sat Don Arturo and Doña Carmen. Don Arturo wore a custom-tailored Italian suit, a gift from his daughter, and Doña Carmen laughed happily, holding a glass of premium champagne.

Valeria stood at the entrance of the garden, looking stunning in a simple, elegant ivory gown. Beside her stood Alejandro Vance, his eyes filled with nothing but admiration and love.

"Are you ready?" Alejandro asked, offering his arm.

"More than ready," Valeria smiled.

As they walked down the aisle, Valeria looked over at the head table. Her parents waved at her, tears of pure joy in their eyes. There were no columns hiding them, no service entrances to push them aside.

She had rewritten the seating chart of her life—and this time, the people who loved her were exactly where they belonged: right at the top.
