Chapter 18 - The Red CarpetThe night of the Chicago Business Leadership Gala was a glittering affair held at the grand ballroom of the Drake Hotel.

The room was packed with the city's elite—CEOs, venture capitalists, innovators, and power brokers. When my name was announced as Executive of the Year, the entire room rose to their feet, erupting into thunderous applause.

I wore a sleek, midnight-blue silk gown that shimmered under the crystal chandeliers. As I walked up to the podium, I looked out across a sea of faces that radiated absolute respect.

I didn't think about Florida beaches, white wedding dresses, or betrayed promises.

I spoke clearly, my voice echoing through the grand hall:
