Chapter 5 - The Emergency Board MeetingAt 10:00 AM sharp, the high-security executive boardroom of the Meridian Global Tower in downtown Seoul hummed with palpable anxiety.

The twelve most powerful real estate tycoons in South Korea sat around the massive teakwood table, murmuring nervously among themselves. At the head of the table sat Min-jae, dressed in his finest bespoke Italian suit, sweating slightly under his collar as he clicked through a digital presentation.

“Gentlemen, Min-jae Constructions is positioned to dominate the Gangnam luxury sector,” Min-jae declared, projecting total, unearned confidence. “All we require today is an immediate emergency capital injection of twenty million dollars to finalize our prime commercial zoning permits.”

An elderly board member adjusted his glasses, frowning at the financial projections. “Mr. Seo, your debt-to-equity ratio is terrifyingly high. And rumor has it your primary financial backers have suddenly pulled their guarantees. Who is underwriting this expansion?”

Min-jae swallowed hard, maintaining his smug facade. “My... my private asset portfolio is currently being consolidated. My family background ensures absolute stability.”

Before anyone could question him further, the heavy double doors of the boardroom swung open with a sharp, echoing bang.

Every head snapped toward the entrance.

Attorney Park walked into the room, his posture immaculate, holding a heavy silver briefcase. Behind him stood two armed private security guards in sharp black suits.

Min-jae frowned, standing up from his chair. “Excuse me! This is a closed executive session! Who let you in—?”

“Mr. Seo,” Park interrupted, his voice cutting through the silent room with icy precision. He placed the silver briefcase on the edge of the board table and popped open the latches. “I am Attorney Park, trustee of the Seo Family Trust. I am here representing the controlling majority shareholder of Meridian Global Holdings and all associated real estate subsidiaries.”

The boardroom erupted into murmurs of shock. Min-jae’s face turned an ugly shade of pale. “The... the Seo Family Trust? That trust has been dormant for a decade! My wife’s family—that’s nothing!”

Park turned slowly, fixing Min-jae with a look of absolute, unmitigated contempt.

“Your wife, Mr. Seo,” Park announced clearly, “is the sole living heir, legal beneficiary, and supreme Chairwoman of the Seo Dynasty. And she has instructed me to inform this board that Min-jae Constructions’ credit line is permanently denied.”
