📖 Chapter 3: The Price of Truth (The Happy Ending)

One Year Later.

The fallout from that night had been catastrophic, just as the media predicted. The "Cassette Wedding Scandal" had gone globally viral. Evelyn’s family pulled their shares, causing Sterling Industries to plummet. Eleanor Sterling was forced to step down from the board in disgrace, isolated in her empty mansion, abandoned by high society.

But out of the ashes of the old Sterling dynasty, something beautiful grew.

Arthur didn't fight to save the corrupted family empire. Instead, he liquidated his personal assets, stepped away from the toxic upper-class circle, and built a new, ethical venture firm from scratch. It was harder work than he had ever known, but for the first time in his life, he slept peacefully at night.

The sun shone brightly over a beautiful, modest house by the countryside. In the backyard, eight-year-old Leo was laughing, kicking a soccer ball across the green grass.

Arthur stood on the porch, watching him with a warm smile. Beside him stood a framed photograph of Clara—the woman he had loved and lost, but whose memory had ultimately saved him from a lifetime of lies.

Leo kicked the ball too hard, and it rolled near Arthur's feet.

"Hey, Dad! Pass it back!" Leo shouted, his bright blue eyes—the exact same shade as Arthur's—crinkling with pure joy.

Arthur smiled, kicking the ball back to his son. The Sterling dynasty had fallen, but a real family had finally begun.
