Chapter 10 - A New DynastyThe Legacy BeginsThree months later, the private maternity suite at Chicago Memorial Hospital was filled with the soft, sweet scent of white lilies and morning sunlight. Outside, the city of Chicago hummed with life, completely unaware of the quiet revolution that had taken place in its underworld.

I sat propped up against the hospital pillows, cradling a tiny, perfect bundle wrapped in a soft blue blanket. Our son—healthy, strong, and breathing with a fierce vitality—slept peacefully against my chest.

The door clicked open, and Gabriel walked in carrying a steaming cup of coffee and a bouquet of fresh roses. He looked different than the cold, ruthless cartel boss who had kicked down my apartment door eight months ago. The hard edges of his face had softened, replaced by the profound, unshakable peace of a man who had finally found his way home.

He set the flowers down on the bedside table, leaned over, and pressed a tender kiss to my forehead before gently brushing his finger against our son’s tiny cheek.

“What are we going to name him?” Gabriel asked softly, a proud smile touching his lips.

I looked from the baby up to the man who had torn apart the city of Chicago just to keep me safe, the man who had rebuilt his entire empire from the ashes of betrayal.

“Julian,” I said, smiling back at him. “Julian Gabriel Russo.”

Gabriel’s eyes glistened with unshed tears of pure joy. He wrapped his arms around both of us, holding his entire world close against his chest. The traitors were gone, the shadows had lifted, and our new dynasty was just beginning.
