Chapter 5 - The Architect of LiesLiam confronted Thorne the next day at the clinic. He didn't go through the front desk. He walked straight into the private office, slammed the door, and pinned the doctor against the wall.
“Where is she?” Liam roared. “Where is Amelia?”
Thorne didn't even look scared. He adjusted his glasses. “Amelia is gone, Liam. The woman you saw is a lookalike I hired to maintain the illusion.”
“Why?”
“Because Amelia wanted to disappear,” Thorne said, his voice calm. “She had a secret, Liam. A secret that would have destroyed your empire. She took a massive payout from your competitors to fake her death, stage a medical failure, and vanish. I was the one who helped her facilitate the ‘death.’ But she didn't stay gone. She realized she wanted her daughter back. She’s in the city, watching you.”

“Because she’s dying,” Thorne whispered. “For real this time. She has six months. She wants to see Riley before the end.”
