Chapter 10 - The New BeginningA year later.

Liam stood by Amelia’s grave. The headstone had been replaced. It now read: Amelia Caldwell. Beloved Mother, Wife, and Guardian.
Riley stood beside him, holding a fresh bouquet of daisies.
“Are you okay, Daddy?” she asked.
Liam looked at his daughter—the bright, resilient miracle he had almost lost twice.
“I am,” he said. “I have everything I need.”
He looked up at the Manhattan skyline. He wasn't the same man who had stood in the townhouse window watching leaves fall. He was a man who knew the cost of everything, and finally, he knew the value of what he had kept.
