Chapter 5 - The Public Execution of Caleb’s PrideHaving failed to ruin my career, Caleb and Patricia resorted to their final, pathetic card: public sympathy.

Caleb posted a long, tragic video on social media. He sat on a plain couch, looking disheveled, claiming his "workaholic bride" abandoned him three days after their wedding because he wanted a traditional family structure, accusing me of financial cruelty and emotional abuse.

The video started gaining traction locally. Comments began piling in from strangers calling me a "gold digger who used him for a wedding" and a "cold-hearted monster."

They wanted a public war? I was ready to give them an annihilation.

Instead of arguing in the comments section, I hired a high-profile media attorney.

On Thursday night, when Caleb’s video hit 50,000 views, I launched a live-stream broadcast from my home account, tagged Caleb, Patricia, and the local news stations that had picked up the story.

Over 10,000 people tuned in within fifteen minutes.

"Hello everyone," I said, sitting calmly in front of the camera in my pristine living room. "My name is Clara Vance. Recently, my husband, Caleb Foster, released a video claiming I abandoned our marriage over 'traditional values.' I believe in complete transparency, so I would like to show you the exact 'traditional values' he is referring to."

I shared my screen.

First, I showed the deed to the condo, timestamped seven years prior to meeting Caleb, proving he owned 0% of the property.

Second, I displayed the high-definition security footage of Patricia barging in with the pin code, demanding 40% of my salary.

Third—and most devastatingly—I put up the official document from the State Licensing Board showing that Caleb’s business license had been revoked for fraudulent accounting eight months ago, alongside bank statements proving he had lived entirely off my credit cards while telling me he was "investing in company growth."

"Caleb did not want a wife," I told the tens of thousands of viewers. "He and his mother wanted an unpaid financial lifeline to cover $180,000 in defaulted debt."

The chat erupted. Thousands of comments flooded in, reversing the public backlash in a matter of seconds: - "OMG SHE BROUGHT RECEIPTS!" - "The mother-in-law literally tried to rob her!" - "Caleb is a complete scrub!" - "This is the most satisfying clapback in internet history!"

While the live stream was still broadcasting, I held up a freshly signed document.

"And finally, to Caleb: Your belongings are currently sitting in a secure storage unit downtown. The rent is paid for thirty days. The key has been mailed to your mother's house. Annulment papers have been officially served to your attorney as of five minutes ago."

I leaned into the camera and gave a small, confident smile.

"Good luck with your rules."

I ended the stream.
