Chapter 6 - The Digital Collapse of Langford EnterprisesBack at Ravenshore, the grand ballroom had transformed from a high-society gala into a federal-style interrogation room.

The massive projector screen cycled endlessly through scanned documents: forged death certificates for Harper’s mother, secret shell companies draining trust funds, and wire transfers to judges who dismissed domestic abuse complaints against Grayson Langford over the past decade.

Commissioner Vance, completely broken, stood near the podium with handcuffs dangling from his wrist. He had already signed a full confession implicating Grayson in three counts of extortion and financial fraud.

“Mr. Langford,” Marcus announced, walking into the center of the ballroom with a thick stack of legal documents and a digital notary pad. “Your attorneys have abandoned you. The Attorney General’s office has just issued an arrest warrant based on the files transmitted from your private vault. But you have one final document to sign before we take you away.”

Grayson Langford sat slumped in a velvet armchair, looking ten years older. His expensive suit was wrinkled, his eyes hollow. He looked up at the projector screen, seeing his entire legacy disintegrate in real-time before three hundred horrified former friends and associates.

“What... what is this?” Grayson croaked, his voice cracking.

“A complete and unconditional transfer of Ravenshore Manor, Langford Shipping, and all remaining domestic and international assets to Mrs. Harper Kane,” Marcus replied coldly. “Sign it, Grayson. Or spend the rest of your natural life in a maximum-security penitentiary where your political friends can’t even spell your name.”

Celeste Langford burst into hysterical tears, clutching her husband’s arm. “Grayson, don't sign it! We can fight this! We have lawyers—”

“Shut up, Celeste!” Grayson roared with a final, pathetic flash of anger. He looked around the room, seeing Senator Sterling and Judge Sterling turn their backs on him, refusing to even make eye contact.

Grayson grabbed the electronic stylus with his trembling, age-spotted hand. Without uttering another word, he pressed the tip against the pad, signing away every cent, every building, and every ounce of power he had spent a lifetime stealing.

As the digital signature flashed green, Marcus nodded to the two armed guards.

“Take him away.”
