Chapter 10 - Reign of the Mob King and QueenThat evening, the sun set over the East Coast, casting a brilliant golden-orange glow across the manicured lawns of the Kane Estate.

Inside the grand parlor, a crackling fire warmed the room as a string quartet—hired not for high-society pretense, but simply because Harper enjoyed classical music—played softly in the corner.

Harper stood by the terrace doors, a glass of champagne in her hand, watching the stars emerge in the clear night sky.

The door opened softly, and footsteps approached across the Persian rug. Strong, familiar arms wrapped around her waist from behind, pulling her back against a warm, solid chest. Dominic rested his chin gently on her shoulder, inhaling the scent of jasmine and vanilla in her hair.

“The Langford Foundation officially filed its first wave of lawsuits against the remaining corrupt trustees today,” Dominic murmured, his breath warm against her neck. “By next week, every single one of them will be stripped of their titles and assets.”

Harper leaned back against him, closing her eyes and letting out a long, peaceful breath. The ghost of Ravenshore, the sound of splintering wood, the terror of that bloody night—all of it was gone, replaced by an empire built on absolute loyalty and unbreakable power.

“Good,” Harper whispered, turning slightly in his arms to look up into his striking, slate-gray eyes. She raised her champagne glass slightly, clinking it gently against his. “To family matters.”

Dominic smiled, a fierce, possessive warmth in his eyes as he tilted her chin up and kissed her softly, sealing an alliance born in blood, forged in fire, and crowned in absolute dominion.

“To family matters,” Dominic replied, his voice dark and steady against her lips. “Forever.”
