Chapter 10 - Dawn Over the MetropolisSix months later, the banner headline across The Wall Street Journal read: BENNETT GLOBAL REBORN: NEW LEADERSHIP VOWS TRANSPARENCY AND PHILANTHROPY.

Inside the executive office on the eightieth floor, the rain had cleared, leaving the Manhattan skyline glittering under a brilliant autumn sun.
Harrison sat at his massive mahogany desk, reviewing a set of architectural plans for a new children's hospital funded entirely by the Rebecca Miller Foundation.
The private elevator chime pinged softly.
The glass doors slid open. Olivia walked in, carrying her backpack with the purple star, wearing a pair of oversized executive headphones that made her look like a tiny sound engineer.
"Dad," she announced, marching right up to his desk and climbing uninvited onto his lap. "The cafeteria downstairs has chocolate chip pancakes today. And you promised you'd take me to the park before lunch."
Harrison smiled, closing the architectural blueprints and wrapping both arms around his daughter, lifting her up into the air with a laugh that hadn't been heard in these halls for thirty years.
"Pancakes and the park," Harrison said, kissing the top of her head. "In that exact order, boss."
As they stepped into the private elevator together, descending smoothly through the towers Harrison had built, he finally understood what Rebecca had meant on that windy beach in Montauk so many years ago.
