Chapter 3 - THE BLOODLINE DECEPTION
“The DNA Results Are In!” — The Plot to Strip the Heir!The air in Ethan’s office turned sub-zero. He stared at the glowing tablet screen, the red stamping NON-PATERNAL MATCH burning into his retinas.
“This is impossible,” Ethan muttered, his voice shaking with a dangerous mixture of grief and disbelief.
Before he could process the shock, the heavy double doors of his executive suite burst open. Victoria strutted in, flanked by three senior board members of Vance Global Logistics and her top corporate lawyer.
“I told you, brother!” Victoria proclaimed triumphantly, tossing a printed stack of the medical files onto his desk. “You threw your own family out of your house for a scheming whore who tricked you into carrying another man’s bastard!”
The board members murmured in quiet disgust.
“Ethan,” the oldest board member spoke up. “Under your father’s trust charter, if you have no legitimate heir by your thirty-fifth birthday—which is next week—your voting rights default entirely to your sister, Victoria. This woman has played you for a fool to steal the empire!”
Ethan stood up slowly, the silence in the room growing so heavy that the hum of the air conditioner felt deafening. He looked at Victoria’s smug, gloating smile.
“Is that so?” Ethan asked quietly.
He picked up his phone, dialed a number, and turned on the speakerphone.
“Dr. Thorne,” Ethan said into the receiver.
A frantic, terrified voice blurted out through the speakers: “Mr. Vance! Please! I was forced! Your sister, Victoria, threatened to revoke my medical license and harm my family if I didn't forge the ultrasound and DNA markers! I have the original blood samples right here! The baby is 100% yours!”
Victoria’s face drained of color instantly. “What?! You traitor!”
Ethan slammed his hand on the desk, the sound popping like a gunshot. “Did you really think I didn’t know you bribed my wife’s doctor, Victoria? Did you really think I didn’t install covert recording devices in the hospital suite you frequented yesterday?”

The board members gasped in horror as Ethan played an audio clip of Victoria offering the bribe.
“Security!” Ethan cold-heartedly commanded. “Escort my sister off the premises. And notify the district attorney—Victoria Vance is under investigation for corporate fraud and attempted blackmail.”
